MINISTRY
LEADER – SHAWNETTE GIBSON
To help children develop a growing
relationship with Christ, encourage them to love and honor God’s word,
and provide opportunities for them to share God’s love with others.
SUNDAY
MORNING BIBLE STUDY CLASSES
Children
ages 2 through the sixth grade participate weekly in Bible study classes
appropriately designed for each age level.
Our Gospel Light curriculum focuses on involving the learner with
God’s word. Children enjoy
hearing God’s Word, singing songs, memorizing scripture, praying for
needs, playing games, and applying what they have learned to their own
lives.
INFANT AND
TODDLER CARE
Children from birth to 2 years old are
lovingly cared for by members of our own congregation during the Sunday
morning and Wednesday evening services.
WEDNESDAY
NIGHT ACTIVITIES
Boys, age’s pre-k through grade five are
invited to participate in our Royal
Rangers program. Royal
Rangers represents a new approach to Christian training for boys.
It is a doorway to action and adventure for boys to develop them
spiritually, physically, mentally, and socially.
Weekly activities include: Bible study, recreation, first aid,
crafts, hobby skills, and nature study.
Award pins and badges are earned for display on each boy’s Royal
Rangers vest.
Girls,
age’s pre-k through grade five are invited to participate in our Missionettes
program. Missionettes is a
Christ-centered, friendly curriculum program which teaches the Titus 2
principle of putting into action women training young girls.
Missionettes is a way to change the world one girl at a time.
Weekly activities include: Bible study, crafts, recreation, field
trips, and working on badge requirements. Award
pins and badges are earned for display on each girl’s Missionette sash.
FAMILY KITE
DAY
Each
March our entire church family is invited to participate in Family Kite
Day. Families meet at Ford
Park, in Allen, to enjoy a hotdog lunch and kite flying festivities.
This event is designed to encourage families to get to know one
another and to grow closer as a church body.
Every child is given a free kite!
QUEST FOR
ADVENTURE SUMMER FIELDTRIPS
Our
“Quest for Adventure” will take your child to many fun places during
the months of June and July. A complete calendar of events, cost, and what to bring will
be available at the end of each school year.
Parents are encouraged to join in on the fun.
VACATION
BIBLE SCHOOL
Each
July we host a week long Vacation Bible School program. Our VBS goal is to reach out to the community and minister to
the children, ultimately ministering to the entire family.
Many volunteers and months of planning, go into creating a fun
atmosphere for sharing the Gospel and leading children to a personal
relationship with Christ. This
is serious fun!
We
offer an exciting Halloween alternative for our families and guests each
October 31st. You
will not find any ghosts or witches here!
Instead, we offer a positive, family atmosphere of carnival games
and delicious food. The Lord
Himself created the harvest season and we celebrate His goodness as we
dress in western attire and fellowship with one another.
In the years to come, we also desire for this activity to be an
outreach to the community.
This
event takes place over a weekend in October.
Pine Cove is a large Christian retreat center specifically geared
toward meeting the needs of children.
Children ride horses, hear Bible stories, play fantastic games,
take a hay ride, scale the rock climbing wall… just to mention a few of
all the fun activities. The
camp is open to first through fifth grade students.
We will join the Metro Church of Garland Children’s Ministry for
this event.
HOLIDAY GIFT WORKSHOP
Each
December our children are invited to come and participate in a free craft
workshop. Kids are given the
materials they need to create Christmas gifts for their family.
It is our goal to teach children the importance of giving to others
and to make Jesus the focus of the Christmas season.
MINISTRY OPPORTUNITIES
If you are interested in joining the
children’s ministry as a teacher, a volunteer in the nursery, or if you
would like to assist with any of the children’s activities you may

Gene
Klapper is the Missions Representative for Metro Church of Allen.
Gene travels with missionaries from Metro Church of Garland, and
other local churches, at the invitation of pastors and evangelists to
places like Tanzania, Uganda, Zimbabwe, Burma, India, Bangladesh and Nepal
throughout the year for two to three weeks at a time, sharing the Gospel
of Jesus Christ with the people of these countries.
In
addition to presenting the Gospel to people in foreign lands, Gene also
provides video and picture documentation to further the financial support
of these trips.
All
trips are funded by private contributions. Much of the money given goes to airfare, transportation, food
and lodging. Additionally,
funds are given to the local pastors and interpreters to assist with their
expenses for their churches and family needs, as well as contributions to
the villages visited.
Metro
Allen has adopted the Pentecostal Evangelistic Church of Mbeya, Tanzania,
which is led by Archbishop Zebadiah Mwanyelele Mwakatage.
We contribute funds quarterly to this church family and its
affiliates, which include five bishops, thirty pastors and some sixty
pastor/evangelists. This
contribution is primarily used for outreach but also supports material
needs of over 2,000 souls throughout Tanzania.
Tax
deductible contributions to help fund these trips can be made to “Metro
Church of Allen, 602 E. Main Street, Suite D, Allen, TX 75002”
indicating in the “For” section of the check “Gene Klapper Mission
Fund”.
Anyone
who is willing and able is invited to join Gene on any one of these trips.
It is often necessary to plan several months in advance.
If you are interested in more information, you may contact the
ministry leader.
Stephen ministers go through 50 hours of high

Stephen ministers are not licensed counselors and should not be
considered a substitute for psychological counseling with regard to more
serious emotional needs.
Typically, the Stephen minister will meet with the care receiver
for approximately an hour each week to provide spiritual and emotional
support. All meetings and content as well as the name of the care
receivers are kept confidential.
Metro Church of Allen currently has four active Stephen ministers.
MINISTRY OPPORTUNITIES

who may benefit from this ministry may submit a request to Pastor Frye.
Currently,
there is no training available for people interested in becoming a Stephen
